Counseling for adults, youth, and families
I provide psychotherapy for youth ages 12 and older, individual adults, and families. My specialization is children and adolescent mental health. Other specializations include depression, anxiety, trauma, mindfulness, peer relationships, family dynamics, behavioral issues, neurodiversity (Autism Spectrum, ADHD), creative arts, and Filipino-American cultural values.
Raised in a first-generation Filipino household, my fluency in Filipino (Tagalog) is conversational, and I have extensive experience working with first and second generation Filipino and BIPOC families with histories of child abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, and neglect).
Schedule a 20-minute consultation via video call, at no cost to you. We can discuss your interest in receiving psychotherapy and any symptoms you may be experiencing.
I can provide local resources to you that include but are not limited to other private practices, mental health agencies, mutual aid networks, and community events.
You must be a California resident to receive services.
I use SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant client management platform, for telehealth services. Downloading the app or making an account to use the platform is not required for clients.
My therapeutic style is based on a holistic sense of healing by utilizing elements of clinical interventions, recognizing ancestral practices, and addressing systems of oppression.
I am trained in Problem-Solving Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
I strongly believe in a client’s right towards self-determination and that every person navigates and processes differently. With a person-centered and pro-people approach, I value strengths and explore areas of growth in ways that are understanding of the individual, community, and the systems we live in.
STANDARD RATE
My standard rate for a 50-minute session is $175. Consider paying the standard rate if you do not experience significant financial hardship in your everyday life. You meet your basic needs and have expendable income for simple luxuries, such as eating out or traveling for fun. By paying the standard rate, you help me open spots for clients in need of limited rates.
LIMITED RATES
I have limited spots available for the limited rates tier. You may qualify for these rates if you experience financial stress, including having trouble meeting basic needs. Other examples of hardship may include having no savings, relying on public assistance, supporting dependents, having significant debt, inability to access health care, and other factors that interfere with your ability to earn money.
PAY IT FORWARD
Any rate above my standard rate is considered the “pay it forward” rate. Consider this rate if you have financial privileges such as access to generational wealth, owning properties, having no dependents, inherited money, working by choice, and other advantages. This rate allows me to open up more spots for those who can only access my services at lower rates.
How to Pay
PRIVATE PAY: I accept payments via credit card, check, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App.
SUPERBILLS: If you would like to use your insurance for reimbursement, I can provide you with a superbill. While I do not accept insurance directly, this allows you to use me as an out-of-network provider. How does it work? You pay for services up front after each session and I give you a superbill/receipt, then you can provide your insurance provider with the superbill and they will reimburse you. Be sure to confirm with your insurance to see if they reimburse out-of-network services.
Check out my Resources page to find other private therapists or therapist networks with sliding scale payment options.
I firmly believe in your right towards self-determination. You have agency to make choices, determine goals, and heal at your own pace. While you are the lead in your story, I hope to serve as your guide in therapy. By recognizing there are power dynamics at play in a therapist-client relationship, I use a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to start where you are, work with you horizontally, and address the needs you may have.
Self-expression and making genuine connections with others are what drives my clinical work. There is an art to how we feel and how we navigate our peer relationships and family dynamics. As a trained clinician in several evidenced-based interventions, including Problem-Solving Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I believe in the arts to be therapeutic and that holistic health must recognize ancestral practices. How and when you choose to express yourself, I support you.
With an ecological framework, I believe that we are impacted by systems of oppression, which include but are not limited to racism, sexism, classism, imperialism, colonialism, and transphobia. We may often speak about anxiety and depression, but how about society and oppression? At the individual level, we make choices for our health and well-being, but we do not solely operate in a vacuum. We are influenced and shaped by our relationships with others, institutions, cultures, histories, and intergenerational trauma. In a system that is not built for our marginalized communities, I value your genuine liberation to live life radically without shame.
Schedule a call and we’ll discuss your interest in receiving therapy to help manage any symptoms you may be experiencing.
